I was assigned to pull weeds out of a pot near the driving range in preparation for more flowers to be planted in it. Then I did my normal duties of helping around the pro shop as needed which included selling drinks and working the register, parking carts correctly and making sure they had score cards and pencils on them and no trash in them.
I re-stocked the drink cooler in the pro shop and refilled the ice cooler with two buckets of ice. After this I had an appointment with the cook Katie to help her understand how to open and edit documents that Bobby had sent her. Then I helped around the pro shop as needed and typed another document Bobby needed on file.
Today it was raining so once the rain stopped I was assigned to wipe off the carts seats, also while I was doing that I was to check on the gas tanks in the carts. If the tanks were less than half full I drove them over into the bullpen area so that someone could fill them up. I then organized the beer cooler and re stocked it with the new shipment of beer. Following this I took out the trash and dumped out the old coffee from that day and prepped the coffee maker for the following day.
I had to weedeat around a pole on the course that Bobby did not want the mowers to get close to and hit. I helped clean up the clubhouse by sweeping the floors, changing any full trashcans and cleaned the windows on all the doors.
There was another event today and I helped Katie again with the food but also served for the first time. Just like the day before I helped clean before I left for the day.
Today I helped with my very first outing which was the TU fun day. I was assigned to help Katie the cook with preparing the food on the grills outside. Once the food was ready I was the runner which meant I would take the food up to the servers. I learned it is very important to have good communication with the others I was working with because if not the servers would have ran out of food and would have just been waiting. After they finished lunch I helped clean up the plates and began preparing the pretzel bites, loaded potato skins, and wings for when they finished golfing. Once the whole event was over I helped clean the kitchen and put the left overs in the coolers.
Day two began with me helping around the club house selling drinks, also I started working on a rough draft of the opening, closing, and interim sheet and emailed Bobby the document. Next I was assigned to take inventory of the linen we had in the closet for the events that upcoming weekend. I organized it into stacks by color, then I typed up a document to share with Bobby that had the colors, sizes, and value of how many we had. I also typed the monthly waste sheets for the cook Katie so Bobby would have them on his computer.
Today was the very beginning of this internship journey. I began learning and going over a list with Bobby about what jobs I would be working on for the next two months at Seneca Hills Golf Club. I learned how to work the register in the professional shop and also learned some of the closing procedure.
