Today I had only a few jobs to do but they were jobs that took more time to finish. First I was to drive the course hole by hole to count the pine trees so Bobby would know how much fertilizer to buy. My next job was to begin working on the bare areas on the course. This was a process because the ground was so dry and hard it took awhile to work the ground up and get the grass seed spread.
Today I worked on editing some of the recent documents I had done for Bobby. Then I worked on creating a wine list.
Today I helped out on the course with watering and fertilizing all the small trees that had recently been planted. Next I drove the course to find the bare areas and write them down so at a later date I would remember where to go when I had to work on them. After I found the ones I could I went to the pro shop to help restock drink coolers and fold polo shirts that were for sale.
Today we were having a parent/child outing so I had many jobs. First I helped Bobby and Eric get the clubhouse ready and then helped Bobby with check in process. I had to make a quick run to pick range balls for the golfers showing up because we were low. After this I was assigned to help the cook get the baked beans in the oven, helped her get the ribs out to the grills, and put the barbeque in the bottles for the people to use. I then went and helped her husk the corn and put butter on it so it was ready to be served. Once the people were finishing up I went back inside to help serve the meal. After everyone was finished I helped clean up and take things back to the kitchen.
Today I filled in the dates on the August calender and wrote in what events or leagues were on certain days. After I finished that I put new paper towel rolls onto the paper towel holders for tomorrow's parent/child outing. I finished the day by going and picking the range and washing the golf balls for the pro shop.
I drove the course hole by hole so I would begin to know where I would be going to when I has to work on the bare areas and water and fertilize the small trees on the course. I then took round up out the spray around the three shelters on the course and when I finished out there I sprayed some outside the clubhouse. Then to finish the day I helped Eric take trash out to the dumpster, swept the carpet, and filled the cooler of ice up in the pro shop.
I began my day by helping Bobby type up the set up procedure for events and once I finished the word document I emailed it to him to make sure it was correct and what he wanted. I then went to pick balls from the range for the pro shop. After that I helped around the pro shop and sold drinks and worked the register.
I helped the other intern Myles get concrete blocks loose that Bobby wants to spray paint and make a chess board with. Next I had to level out the remaining dirt in that area and took the excess dirt over to the maintenance barn. Next I got two buckets of pea gravel to put around the pole that I had worked up the ground around earlier. I then met with Bobby to discuss which tasks I have already accomplished and which I still had to do.
Today I dug out an area for engraved concrete blocks in memory of people who have passed. I picked more range balls because we were running low and washed them. I had to take a package into town to mail for Bobby.
Today I had the job of picking the range and learning how to wash the balls for the range ball buckets.
